Working with the OEI
Industry is an integral part in helping the OEI fulfill the Army's commitment to address rising security challenges and escalating costs associated with energy consumption on Army installations. For the Army, enhancing energy security is operationally necessary, financially prudent and mission critical.
The Army's vast amount of land and the need for additional sources of renewable and alternative energy stand as unique business opportunities worthy of investors' time, talents and capital. The OEI is committed to creating an environment where industry can confidently engage with the Army.
The OEI actively works with installations to screen and provide feedback on large-scale renewable and alternative on or near its installations by enabling new onsite generation and focusing on projects with “islandable” capabilities to include onsite generation, energy storage, and energy controls. This “islandable” capability could enable the electricity from projects to be directly routed to essential requirements at Army installations in the event of a grid disruption or other power emergency. The OEI's dedicated technical, business and acquisition expertise expedites project development timelines to ensure the highest and best value to the Army. For additional information on the OEI's large-scale renewable and alternative energy opportunities or to request a meeting, please contact us.
Reminder: The OEI is only responsible for large-scale renewable and alternative energy projects 10 megawatts or greater. The OEI collaborates with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Defense Logistics Agency and other organizations on these activities.
OEI staff is available to speak at events that support its mission. If you would like to request a speaker for your event, please complete and submit the Speaker Engagement Request form.
